Best way to make a Cabin?

So for my map I'm trying to make a Cabin but I can't figure out the best way to make one. Is it using models or using brushes? Because brushes don't make it look realistic enough and with models I get stuck when adding a door because it doesn't fit in well. Any help or tips would be appreciated.

a lot of wooden brushes or xmodels can go a long way but it really depends on what kind of cabin you mean:





this one is back from comosea 2012 where the main factory part has metal+wooden interior but the other structures have a more cabin feel

however the point im trying to make here is that i never used any cylinders  for the houses only down the docks like logs etc

it all comes down to your preference and what type of feeling you want to get across to the players experiencing your level for the very first time.
