If Java had true garbage collection, most programs would delete themselves upon execution.

Want your map to be featured in the UGX Map Manager app, which has had over 10,000 downloads and offers auto-download and auto-install features to players?

The first step is to post a thread in the Non-UGX Releases board, with a link to download the map from a source such as Mediafire or Gamefront, as well as a description and image(s) of the map.
One or more UGX admins will have a look at the map, and see if it meets the following criteria:

1 ) The map should be playable, in solo and co-op. Or, put more simply, it should work!
2 ) We like a map which is more than a single, box-like room without detail! It isn't very hard to make a map which offers more than this, so put in just a little effort and you should meet this criteria.
3 ) Bugs and glitches shouldn't be game-breaking. We won't refuse your map for a couple of glitches or minor issues, but they shouldn't totally ruin the experience of playing the map.
4 ) Proper credit must be given to anyone that was largely involved in the creation of the map. Obviously we don't know who has helped you, but if anyone in your map's topic claims their credit is missing, or contacts us regarding this matter, we will investigate it when we have time and take proper action.
5 ) The map should be YouTube-safe. Any music in the map that isn't self-recorded should be on the MUSIC sound channel so that YouTubers can turn off the music to avoid copyright infringement. For instructions on how to do this, click here.
6 ) Clean! Our site reaches a wide audience. People of all ages, race, and sexual orientation could potentially download content from our website and for this reason we require that your maps be clean of any offensive material could be considered racist, sexist, or pejorative. These are the same rules we uphold on our forums, and we expect them to be upheld in maps that we host. Thank you for your cooperation.
7 ) Reasonably-compressed!! If a map like Project X can be under 300mb, we think it's reasonable to impose a 325mb filesize limit for maps to be accepted into the Map Manager. We are paying for this bandwidth, and 400-500mb maps are a total waste of it. It also slows down other people's downloads while they wait for you to download the unreasonably large map file. Thank you for your understanding.
8 ) Fun! Your map doesn't have to be totally original with ground-breaking custom features, but it should still offer players a good fun game of zombie-slaying.

It may seem a tad harsh to impose these rules, but we do have a reason! We pay monthly to use a high-speed server which offers fast downloading internationally, and we simply cannot use up our space and bandwidth with maps that nobody wants to play.
We are fully aware that there are many less experienced mappers trying to get their releases noticed by the zombie-slaying community, so we've tried to make these rules as fair as possible. As such even a new mapper is able to meet these criteria, and if you're worried that you can't, there are plenty of guides and tutorials on this very site to help you improve your mapping skills! ;)

Once your map has been approved by UGX, you'll be notified via a private message and a link will appear on your Release thread which looks like this:

This map can be downloaded from the UGX Map Manager.

And your map will now be ready for download in the manager!
If you ever need to release an update or patch to your map, we can add it to the manager too; speak to a UGX admin through private messages or Skype, and we can arrange adding the files into the manager. It will be made available as a new version of your map in the Manager and players will be able to easily update with one click. :)
However, please try to keep updates to a minimum by making your first release the only one, as this saves everybody effort and time.

Have a nice day!
