Alcatraz

This is a totally re-imagined version of Mob of The Dead with an all new insane story-line. Four new characters explore the mysteries of Alcatraz after experiencing a fishing accident off the coast of the island.
More will be added to the story-line as time progresses.
I have been working on this map on and off for years, its been my learning tool but now I want to finish it.


Features: (not all just some due to people's curiosity and questions lol)
- Brutus will be in the map!  :nyan:
- Perks: Jugg, Quick Revive, Speed Reload, Double Tap 2.0, Electric Cherry
- Weapons from MW2, BO2, BO1, Cod Waw, and some custom wonder weapons  ;)
- MOTD HUD and round sounds as well as lightning
- Origins style Buildables as well as Easter egg buildables setup with BO2 style buildables for extra challenge
- Epic hard boss battle
- Blundergat/Acidgat (of course lol)
- Several mini boss zombies
- Custom objective with some similar to MOTD but with a twist.  :)
- MOTD Wolves thanks to NateSmithZombies
- Tomahawk thanks to Harry
- MOTD magic crate
- Panzers will make an appearance.  ;)

LoL, Nope no batman references in this map. :)  Its a more serious map with a creepy feel.  ;D

So is this gonna be a straight remake of the MOTD layout or totally different (like Nukem's Alcatraz)? I hope that you go with the former, if it's not already too late  :P

It'd be pretty cool to start from the docks (really loving that pic of them!) and gradually work your way through the prison floors.

I feel like it would be nice if you embraced a survival horror theme with this one. MOTD tried but failed laughably with the cheesy characters and overabundance of super spoopy bodybags. So with this one I think that maybe splitting players up and adding Verruckt sprinters would be a nice touch.

Also, you can have players build a boat instead of a plane to escape lol

Players will start on the docks and the layout is close to MOTD but the cellblock is a little different. Also the plane will not be used but their is use of boats  ::).

MOTD is my favorite zombies map and I am excited to see how this turns out. It's cool to see that you are changing some of the features while keeping a similar layout.

Your kidding right?, MOTD atmosphere was spot on, and the characters couldn't of been more perfect.   This is the first time I have ever heard MOTD and fail in the same sentence.

It's not a replica of MOTD but that being said it still stays true to the real Alcatraz as far as design/layout. Its not 100% accurate/to scale but neither was MOTD. The story and objectives will be all original with no relation to MOTD.  :)

Did you guys find MOTD scary? I just find it difficult to get scared on a relatively easy map that has stereotypical mobsters spouting one-liners in heavy Italian accents. Couple that with silly things like the exact same bodybag model being spammed around the entire map.

I didn't mean to imply that the atmosphere/characters were bad, just that the map didn't manage to be scary. And I'm simply hoping that this map will pick up the slack and introduce some real scares.

No need to hate, I do love MOTD as much as anybody else  ;)

It'll its first appearence in a map that is actually playable then - i could never play that map, hard overall mixed with bad framerate and as I understand the shrink ray anims werent that good anyway

Really starting to get the impression you just dislike anything "Treyarch" ;)

fair enough,  I would agree when you put it that way, could we at least agree that the background music did help up the creepiness factor to the map a bit?

i dont, every character in call of duty zombies ( including call of duty online ) are "intentionally" made to be stereotypical and predictable. Hell they even wrote it into the storyline...

but yes cool creepy music helped, same for buried

Ok guys I know its been a long time but I finally have the time to finish my Alcatraz map.  :nyan:  And what's even cooler is that I get to use UGX Mod 1.1!! I posted some new photos in the original post.

The map is fully playable right now I just need to add more detail and create some fun objectives/easter eggs. That's where I need your help. Please feel free to post cool, crazy, amazing, awe inspiring ideas. I may not be able to use all of them but hopefully they will fuel my imagination. I also added a poll for the kind of objectives you like the best to the top of the post. :D

Yep Hell's Redeemer is included. I've been debating afterlife, I might do it but maybe with a twist.

The UGX mod has a ton of stuff I could have never made on my own, but dont worry I've been adding my own weapons all day. I'm not just slapping the UGX Mod on my map and not focusing on weapons. Trust me I got a few surprises for ya  ;)

Are ya going to add the Grief map as a survival map in a side mod?

With all of the new game-modes UGX Mod 1.1 has to offer I'm not going to be making the Grief mode. So the game-modes you'll have will be:


And don't forget the pages of mutators that add more fun to each game.

I Know that but Are you gonna make just the Cellblocks a UGX survival map, not a grief map, in a separate mod?

I hadn't really thought about it. It's no really on my to-do list but if this maps gets a good response then I might make a separate map of just the cellblocks.

Collecting supplies from zombie prison guards and there offices (maybe after you kill them) to collect for an escape off altatras island. You gotta collect keys from guards to get into their offices and some secret rooms etc. Get special perks and stuff too, like booze for pain killers but with the bad aim downfall. Also guns can be found from fallen or alive prison guards or in their offices. The escape is You gotta get parts for a hot air ballon. There are a couple problems you got to deal with before you can escape. you got to defeat the beast (boss zombies) which is in a special cell to get to a escape tunnel that he was starting to digg in his cell but you can only see the tunnel if you look at obvious enough clues and writtings on the wall and scratches etc. You also have to have the key to open his cell that you get from one of the ofiicers/offices closest to his cell. There are clues to an escape plan that he was starting to write after all hell broke loose. Says something like this, get supplies to build hot air balloon, dig tunnel build supplies at beach and leave. It is about a tunnel to the beach and an air ballon. (it shows you got to get an emergency raft from the head officers office. and rope from the cave. and a lighter from the wardens office jsut outside beasts cell and gasoline from (somewhere) and beasts special bucket he was making for the escape. it is a bucket with a metal cover and a hole at the bottom. and the beast has been sewing together a sheet for the ballon of the air ballon (also he will drop tools essential for escaping) You got to use the tools the boss zombies drops to continue digging the hole until you find your self at an under ground cave with alot of zombies. (FYI Once you beat the beast you make it so that the zombie spawning rounds end and it spawns all the zombies (ALOT) at the end of the tunnel (in the cave)  because you are making an escape. I guess it could be like a boss round in the scripts just with alot of regular zombies instead of a boss, you will see why i say that. - i thought this out.). Once you open the tunnel the zombies see you and you gotta shoot for you life with all you got and you can runn all the back back up the way you came while you do so. Once you beat the zombies the regular zombie rounds start again from where they left off. and you got to get all the supplies and build the hot air ballon fast! :P . Once you build the hot air balloon you then fly away :) (FYI this is how the hot air ballow works.. the special bucket is to be filled with gasoline for the flame to make the hot air balloon fly and the raft is the floor of the hot air ballon and the ropes tie it all together.)

(it shows you got to get an emergency raft from the head officers office. and rope from the cave. and a lighter from the wardens office jsut outside beasts cell and gasoline from (somewhere) and beasts special bucket he was making for the escape. it is a bucket with a metal cover and a hole at the bottom. and the beast has been sewing together a sheet for the ballon of the air ballon (also he will drop tools essential for escaping) You got to use the tools the boss zombies drops to continue digging the hole until you find your self at an under ground cave with alot of zombies. (FYI Once you beat the beast you make it so that the zombie spawning rounds end and it spawns all the zombies (ALOT) at the end of the tunnel (in the cave)  because you are making an escape. I guess it could be like a boss round in the scripts just with alot of regular zombies instead of a boss, you will see why i say that. - i thought this out.). Once you open the tunnel the zombies see you and you gotta shoot for you life with all you got and you can runn all the back back up the way you came while you do so. Once you beat the zombies the regular zombie rounds start again from where they left off. and you got to get all the supplies and build the hot air ballon fast! :P . Once you build the hot air balloon you then fly away :) (FYI this is how the hot air ballow works.. the special bucket is to be filled with gasoline for the flame to make the hot air balloon fly and the raft is the floor of the hot air ballon and the ropes tie it all together.)

Great idea man! I love it!  :D I actually was thinking about a hot air balloon and even built one a long time ago that flies like a lunar lander. I'm definitely gonna start working on this. I'm thinking I can use Brutus as the guard and he drops keys ever time you kill him. Then I can do like you said and have multiple doors that open when you use a key. I may even throw in some randomization so its a different door and cell every game.  ;)

As for the "Beast" boss, I'll have to come up with something terrifyingly awesome.   ::)

What you described above is similar to "Escape from Alcatraz" starring Clint Eastwood. I don't know if anyone has seen it but it's amazing. It's the true story of Frank Morris and his escape from Alcatraz. If you love Mob of the Dead and prison escape movies then definitely watch it. And you never know, the movie may even help you with solving some secrets in my map.  ;)

I kind of do but he's just a boss zombie really, he doesn't break things like perk machines etc. (I didn't know how to make him do that).  So If you want to make Brutus by all means I'd love to use him. Your's would be way better than mine. Let me know what you want to do.

-- Also if anyone has the wolves from Mob of The Dead I'd love use them. I tried all day to port the model and anims but the anims are messed up looking in Maya. I also don't know how to script the wolf eating the zombies either. I figured it would be like a soul chest but IDK. So if anyone wants to help me on those that would be awesome.

Yo, just in case you dont know this already. Putting the light sources in the actuall lighting object. (for example putting the lighting coming from the light bulb by putting the light source in the light bulb..) Also you can do different hues and colors and shades of lights that could pertain to the feel of the area and or light etc...

Thanks man I'll try and post some more screenshots soon with the updated lighting. I've been tweaking the vision file as well as the worldspawn lighting and colors. I'm making the actual lights in the prison a yellowish tint just like the old timey lights emit. It gives that creepy feel to the map just like MOTD.  ;)

Hey man i got an idea for circular flow of the map.
An idea could be having one or more ATVs that you can build or add weaponry and shielding to them to make them more baddass. To make it not to over powered you can make it so that you have to get gasoline and or ammo for them. Maybe you HAVE to get a max ammo for the ATV gun ammo, or you have to find gasoline tanks around the map to fill up the ATVs etc. Another new idea could be Parkour Jumps that zombies cant do. you could make them sick too! And for anti camping purposes you can make the course moving objects or whatever that tilt and youll fall off if you stayed on it to long etc. So like where the zipline would go you put a parkour set to where you jump on to something and to something else like a rope (with ladder script) etc, The parkour can be like random things in the map, or maybe like a broken building etc..

I liked the gonola from the original mod of the dead because it was a safe transport if there was alot of zombies after you especially if you couldnt shoot them all.. .. Maybe you can have a gondola wherever, ziplines from the roof. And that truck idea is cool, but if its not done right itll look dumb.. I got a great idea. Weather and or daytime changes. so youve seen the 'weather change' that happens during dog rounds by default in world at war zombies? You could make it so that when its a boss round or something like dog rounds you can trigger that weather change. You can make the weather change end after the rounds or  so that it stays until a certain amount of time or the next weather trigger. You can also make the intensity of the weather change progressive so that it portrays the urgency of the boss/dogs rounds. So lets say the map starts out morning lighting with light rain and then its about to be a boss round and the HEAVY rain starts (or lighting or snow etc). After the boss round the HEAVY rain turns into light "rain" and the "rain" stops or changes next time theres a weather change trigger all using the default dog rounds "weather changer" (its not really weather change but its close enough to use it to do weather changes.)

Another example of the progression is that you could make it so that it starts out very light snow and when the dogs/boss rounds are gonna start it turns into a blizzard or heavier snow and then after the round the weather subsides again.

I have been working on this map on and off for years, its been my learning tool but now I want to finish it. I was debating using the UGX mod 1.1 but after testing it I found it may be too much work. It caused me to hit a few engine limits so I'm going to be using my own weapons and maybe Harry's perks and mods. I loved the UGX Mod 1.1 and I recommend using it as it is extremely easy to install and contains a million awesome features. Maybe later I will include a UGX version of the map once it gets out of beta.

I wish! I love that map. It and MOTD are my favorites. I'm definitely going to try to make something cool for wonder weapons. I have one weapon done already but it's more of an Easter egg gun not really a beast zombie killer. But hey if you come across someone who has or knows how to make the bows just lemme know.  ;)

Yeah man no prob, i love the map so far. So yeah the main idea was the weather idea using the dog rounds weather change default script to change the weather throughout the game. It doesnt have to be on dogg/boss rounds. You can still use the default script but just dont have any dogs come if you just want to make weather change without the boss/dog rounds..

One more thing, please change up the damage of the guns to be more realistic. The pistols should be alot stronger and the snipers for example. I understand packapunch makes them stronger but i feel like the pistols are to week and its unrealistic. It would be cool to have the pistols stronger.

BUT FOR A SERIOUS IDEA PLEASE READ GOOD STUFF... Changing the damage of all the guns to be REALSITIC.. So you can start out with a knife only and your first gun, the pistol, can be pretty expensive since the guns are  stronger and more realistic.. here me out
If your going to do this, which i hope you do, you can make it so that the points in game are based on kills and not each shot to compensate for the lesser amount of points people might get with stronger guns.. Still making the heat shots, knifes worth more. You can also make the window rebuild points more. Something else is more points for revives. Also big points for Killing bosses. This point system is very much like quizz's mod from the beta map TMG Skyland.  BUT Heres the catch/change...

Something else i thought of was making the progression of the map based on challenges. So the doors/barriers of the map will not be money based by challenge or easter egg based. For example a door might say 25 zombie kills and act as a soul chest with the souls going into a soul lantern by the door or something. Another example could be 12 grenades to open door. So you have to use all your grenades for a couple rounds to blow up the barrier completely. Another example could be finding keys, etc. So all this together makes the game more realistic and uses points more for upgrading guns. And makes the progression of the map challenge based etc..

Also you can make in game challenges for money and more like in origins. You can make it so that there are a bunch of challenges listed in game (in origins bo2 map there is a challenge chest) all around the different parts of the map. With the slower point progression with guns you will be obliged to do the challenges for more money and extras to buy weapons and stuff since the doors are challenge based.

Thanks for the ideas. I'm still working on the easter egg and some objectives as well as detailing some areas of the map. From my test runs of the map I believe I may have to lower the amount of points you receive from killing zombies. Mainly because I'll have 4500 points by round 5 and can just buy my way through the whole map. I'll get it nice and balanced and don't worry about the weapons. I've spend countless hours and days getting my own weapons as well as some weapons from the community working and balanced.   ;)

Another example could be finding keys, etc. So all this together makes the game more realistic and uses points more for upgrading guns. And makes the progression of the map challenge based etc..

Also you can make in game challenges for money and more like in origins. You can make it so that there are a bunch of challenges listed in game (in origins bo2 map there is a challenge chest) all around the different parts of the map. With the slower point progression with guns you will be obliged to do the challenges for more money and extras to buy weapons and stuff since the doors are challenge based.

But, you would have "realistic" weapons in a mode that involves the undead rising from the ground and slapping you down in 2 hits, as well as drinking a beverage that allows you to shoot faster, run faster and further, allow you fall as far as you want without as much as a scratch, and allows you excrete webs when you a slapped.

Hahahahaha true! I'm going to keep the weapons balanced mainly because if all the weapons were realistic then the zombies wouldn't stand a chance. I mean when I shoot my .12 gauge shotgun in real life it goes way farther than it does in Cod WaW and does way more damage too. lol I'm just happy that people are taking interest in my map and throwing ideas at me. Realism is not really the feel of my map so far. Like you said Jiffy I have all the newest perks, crazy wonder weapons that do weird stuff, zombies and other creatures, and maybe even another dimension...  ::) 
I'm aiming towards a fun, re-playable, story-driven map that people will hopefully enjoy playing for years to come.

 :o  :rainbow: Yes please, maybe like a dark twisted dimension and the portal to it is a ripped open rift like in bo3, I mean if you can get that.. or something similar or cooler, or two dimensions one light and one all dark like good and bad and each one has a boss that drops an item to open a portal leading to a buyable ending or some weapon.

There is no set date for release yet. I just graduated college (Whoop! Whoop!  :D) so I'm busy with the graduation ceremony and parties but I should be able to finish it up by late June/July at the latest. As soon as everything calms down in my life I should have tons of free time after work to relax and work on Alcatraz.  8)

I'm going to have Brutus. I guess that counts as a boss but I consider him more of a mini-boss. I like epic bosses like in my Wayne manor map cough cough (trex)  ::)  I'm going to have some suprises for you guys so don't worry about a boss, there will be plenty of creatures to kill.

Idea for easter egg:
in a cellblock is al capone and he has a part of the pack-a-punch.

1.Step: find al capone's corpse.
2.Step: Find the key to open his cellblock
3.Step: take the part
4.Step: Add the part to the pack-a-punch

Also I posted a new pic of the showers. I'm getting there. I've been working a lot of FX and lighting as well as porting some models I was missing such as the bloody tarps and body-bags. This isn't the final product, I'm still going to go back and add lots of blood to the ground and more dirt and grime. It just takes a while for that so I'm waiting to do it all at once.

Personally I would like to see a rec area just because it would be new and fresh, not something just taken out of mob of the dead. I also really like easter eggs so an easter egg style objective qould be awesome. One more idea I have is maybe a quest to get a wounder weapon like how you could get a free blundergat in MOTD. Anyways, really looking forward to this map and hopefully an awesome easter egg  :D

Hey WhippyTrout, i had an idea. If you made a boat or raft/boat of somekind in the water as a way to travel around the map in times of need. and put buyable gun ammo and usefull supplies like that in the boat. Or maybe a boat like this.. if not a pirate ship or row boat for other ideas..

I was debating using the UGX mod 1.1 but after testing it I found it may be too much work. It caused me to hit a few engine limits so I'm going to be using my own weapons and maybe Harry's perks and mods.

Yes this map will include Brutus as a mini-boss. I just updated the original post adding a features list to let you guys know some of the basic features the map has.

I've hit a slow spurt lately due to having to learn to portal in order for the map to work. It has gotten so large with so many models I have to portal the map in order for it to not crash. No worries though, codmoddd1234 is teaching me and I should hopefully have the hang of it by this weekend so that way I can get back to completing the cough cough... boss battle... cough cough.  ::)

Thanks Man! I'm so glad to hear that. I didn't receive much feedback from that map and what I did receive was negative so I didn't know if anyone ever beat the map. Trust me your in for a surprise with this boss battle.  ;)

Thanks! Yes the buildables are made where you have to pick up all the parts before you can craft the item, and all parts are shared.

May be basic, but sometimes a nice simple message on screen saying <player name> has collected the <part name> part for <buildable> just to inform everyone in game that the part has been collected would work fine. Looking forward to this map though!

I already have the MOTD round changing sounds added in so no worries there.  ;)  I'll probably leave the powerup sounds the same because I'm ready to be finished with the map. So guys just hold on a little longer. I still have testing that needs to be done but It's pretty much done.  ;D

this looks dope, i put Alcatraz in my top 3 wonders of the world because of its spooky and dark history, that was perfectly recreated by treyarch in MOTD, if you could steer clear of the futuristic weapons from like BO3 and AW that'd be great, i hate seeing so many good maps like yours that get ruined by all this futuristic weaponry that doesn't fit the scene of the map, you do need the Tommy gun because that's just awesome, the hells retriever and redeemer should be in this map, i think you should lay off on the "plane and any other means of escaping the island" ideas, it would make the map more like we are really trapped there, I'd like to see the golden spork if you somehow manage to find a way to put that in, maybe take what treyarch did and make this map more scary, i really like maps that have a scary feel to them and what better place to go than Alcatraz!  ;)

Yea I have them in my map. They are tricky to find when exporting. lol The name of the model is bo2_fxanim_zom_al_chain_short_hook_mod

So if you export the models from BO2 thats what you need to look for.  ;)

Well guys. I was planning on having this map done and released by now but I've hit a brick wall with development.  :'(

I can't get Harry's perks, shield, and craftables working correctly. I fix one issue and 3 more take it's place. I'm hoping I will get these issues resolved with Harry's help. I'm just a mapper so this complex scripting stuff is out of my league.

I'll keep you guys updated on the status of this map as time progresses. As for where I stand without the perks and stuff, I'm pretty much done with everything. I have it finished accept for testing the map itself for bugs like out of map glitches and clipping stuff.

I'll keep you guys updated on the status of this map as time progresses. As for where I stand without the perks and stuff, I'm pretty much done with everything. I have it finished accept for testing the map itself for bugs like out of map glitches and clipping stuff.

Glad to know it's basically done! Take your time, though, better to have a delay than to have a buggy map.

I apologize for the delay in release guys. I've had some personal issues come up and have not had a lot of time to finish the map. Like I said earlier though, its pretty much done. I'm just waiting on a fix for Harrys perks which should be any day now.  :)

If worst comes to worst, you can always have the Ray Gun Mark 2, it's readily available on the place everyone goes on to get weapons in a rush, CFG Factory.

Maybe if you replace the hellsretriever with an altar from shadows of evil and I also saw you had some high tree's in a sneakpeak. Maybe you have to swing around to a platform and collect some parts of an machine you have to build. If you make the machine you have to collect souls to use as power Andy if you done that a few times (more of those machines all different parts.) you get a great portal in the middle that leads to a boss fight :P

Hey guys I just wanted to reassure everyone that I am still working on this map. I took a few weeks off to make Jigsaw and now I'm back. I feel more inspired now and have some crazy ideas for the map. So far I've made some huge leaps in progress scripting wise whereas before I felt uninspired and stuck in a rut.

I appreciate your patience and I hope the map will be released soon.

Thats the reason I've been delayed on release. I've struggled with Coop issues while using Harry's perks. I've decided to just recreate electric cherry myself and then focus on tweaking the default perks. Please don't think I'm dissing Harry's perks, they are amazing. I just think I'm hitting the memory limit or something so crazy things start happening.

My goal it to make this as fun as possible so don't worry. Also remember that Mob of the Dead only had default perks plus electric cherry and dead-shot.

Well guys I have a quick update for you. I finished the map but am having some sort of limits issue. I can't get some animations to load in Coop and zombie spawners are starting to not work since adding in the ending to my map. This has happened way too many times to count in the past. I'm working on reducing assets that are not being used but still being loaded. Maybe I can get it back in working order.

I'm sorry for the delay. I'm as frustrated as all of you are. I really want to release the map but I have to get it working first.  ;)

Is the new areas locked behind a secret easter egg like SirJammy's Nuketown Remastered where you had to grenade the generator things to unlock the Bunker?

HUGE BREAKTHROUGH GUYS!!!!!!

I fixed the two game breaking bugs in the map!! I'm sooo relieved. It took a few days and numerous hours but I dissected my map and found what the issues were. I'm going through now and polishing up some scripts to make them more release ready. Expect a release soon. Well that is unless I find some other game breaking bug while doing more tests.

Everything is going great! I have been adding the small things to give the map a little polish. (devils in the details right? hahaha) No game breaking bugs and I'd like to make a Huge announcement:

I'm using the Origins Version of Richtofen, Dempsey, Nikolai, and Takeo. As these characters you'll explore Alcatraz the year it closed down to the public. You may even learn what exactly was going on in the prison and what the warden was up to.  8)

Hey guys! Quick update. I have done so much work on the map and have been testing it lately. Solo works perfect. Coop had some issues but I got all of them but one fixed. To be honest I'm feeling really burnt out on the map. I want it to be amazing but at the same time I'm ready to be finished. I've been working on this map on and off for years. That's right I said "YEARS" lol. So no matter what this map will be released before Christmas.  :nyan:

Also I'm going to add some new polls above so check them out and give me some feedback.

So after lots of testing I received some good feedback. Most all was positive but I did notice people wanting more, which is fine. So I've been working overtime on creating some crazy new side quests and fun Easter egg stuff. That being said I just can't see a "before Christmas release" happening. I know that's what I said but now I'm looking at a release before New Years Eve. I hope I can meet this deadline. Again I'm sorry but I hope you can all understand the craziness of Christmas time.

And since I didn't meet my initial deadline I'll leave a little sneak peak into whats going to be in my Alcatraz map for fun:

That's a good idea! I can add something like that real quick. I do need to have a little explanation at the beginning for the majority of people who don't read the story part on the original post lol (i do it too hahahaha)

Hey guys! Quick update. I have done so much work on the map and have been testing it lately. Solo works perfect. Coop had some issues but I got all of them but one fixed. To be honest I'm feeling really burnt out on the map. I want it to be amazing but at the same time I'm ready to be finished. I've been working on this map on and off for years. That's right I said "YEARS" lol. So no matter what this map will be released before Christmas.  :nyan:

Also I'm going to add some new polls above so check them out and give me some feedback.

Update:
So after lots of testing I received some good feedback. Most all was positive but I did notice people wanting more, which is fine. So I've been working overtime on creating some crazy new side quests and fun Easter egg stuff. That being said I just can't see a "before Christmas release" happening. I know that's what I said but now I'm looking at a release before New Years Eve. I hope I can meet this deadline. Again I'm sorry but I hope you can all understand the craziness of Christmas time.

Hey guys!

I've had a ton of stuff happen lately in my personal life so I've been unable to work on Alcatraz for a few weeks. But I just got back into it today and already got a few things working. I even wrote out some new quests and boss battles.  ::)

I know better than to set a release date because I seem to always fail to meet them. But don't worry I'll get it done as quickly as possible.

Yea I have to finish what i started so many years ago. This will be my masterpiece that I hope people will play for years to come even though this is an old game. I'm trying to make as much stuff to do that is fun and entertaining for players. I know it's taking a long time to finish but as you know Cod waw tries its best to fight you every step of the way. hahaha

Also I have a quick update to mention: Gondola from MOTD has been added into the map. :nyan:

Afterlife was cut from the map due to too many coop issues. But don't worry I have been adding plenty of stuff to do that is more fun than being able to shock open doors and revive yourself hahahaha.

There are plenty of new areas. Please understand that I never said that this was MOTD remastered. I actually began this map way before MOTD or BO2 was even released. This information is all in the original post. I am making this map as true to Alcatraz as possible so it will resemble MOTD because they did a great job capturing the real Alcatraz layout. That being said I am going outside the box and unleashing my imagination so expect some crazy new areas that are not really in Alcatraz as well.  ::)

As for the MOTD remake on BO3, I will probably play it and it will be fun but there is nothing to really compare to my map. With the custom story-line I've set up and crazy things to do I doubt my map and that one will be similar.

The map is going great. I almost have it done. I was planning on having it finished by today but I got sick so now I have to get over this. I'll be testing soon with some trusted friends in order to try and work out any problems that could arise. I think this map will be a fresh new fun experience that is different from any other map.

Do you have the Origins crew?Really?Would you mind sharing it with me?Sorry to be asking but the ones I'm using is from CFG and they have the 128 error to a lot of weapons to me.IDK where else to get it

Hahahaha I feel ya man. Kinda like a ghost town now that Black Ops 3 mod tools are out. I've got the list of bugs down to about a half page. As soon as I get those fixed I'll make a new post and release it. I can't really put a specific date because I always seem to find something game breaking or something happens in my personal life. But don't worry It will be released.  :)

Most of the bugs are simple balancing issues for players and zombies. (Can't have it too hard or too easy hahaha)

Hahaha I remember that version too! I have several weird versions of the map but I think that one you have may be the strangest. At that time I was messing around with the Ugx mod I believe.

But for real I played through it the other day with godmode and noclip and it took 2 hours to complete and I know everything about the map. So I think people will have tons of stuff to do and figure out.  :nyan:

It won't be long now. Just wait it will be worth it.

The map kinda has a story that plays out in the map. I'll still probably setup the map in the description. Most players don't listen to sound quotes and stuff for the story so I decided to focus on game play and fun instead and leave the story to their imagination (but there is still a story there just to be clear). Ok quick update:

I fixed the g_spawn error. I'm tweaking certain parts of the easter egg to make them harder in parts. I'm also fixing up some weapons that were buggy (gun sounds, texture issues, and some wonder weapon exceptions for bosses that cause game freezing). I'm working hard to get it fully playable with no issues. I have no release date yet but I'll keep you informed on whats going on.

Hey guys! Quick Update:

So I've been spending the past few weeks optimizing my scripts in order to fix a game crash that happened late in the game. I've had 3 different types of crashing that has occured and I believe now I may have them all fixed. I still need to run some severe stress tests with 3 of my friends to ensure it won't crash anymore.

I hope you all understand that I'm working as hard and fast as I can to make this map run smoothly with no crashing or errors.

And on a fun note, I've changed the Origins characters to 4 new characters. They are the best zombie killing team in the business.  ;)  I can't reveal them yet but I'll try and have either a teaser trailer or some loadscreen images for you guys.

hahaha man aint nobody got time for dat!  ;)

Believe it or not Treyarch has stolen so many ideas from my map. Even my friends who beta test with me were saying that. I think they're watching and listening like little Big Brother Leeches! 


But for real, As of now there is no way Black Ops III could handle the crazy stuff I've put into this map. What you gain in nice graphics and lighting, you lose in scripting. Plus I don't want to restart and have to learn it all over again. Plus you guys want to play it as soon as possible right? lol  :nyan:

Great new guys!

I tested the map with 4 players all the way through and we completed the entire map. No bugs, no crashing, no g_spawn, nothing. We even stress tested it by going crazy with wonder weapons and tons of zombies everywhere.

I feel like it's difficult but not impossible map. We beat the entire map with no cheats or anything. So I'm really happy to finally be done with this monster of a project. I've been working on this map on and off for 7 YEARS!! So its a big relief for me.

I'm getting together a loadscreen image and trailer. The release will be coming either the last week of May or the first week of June.  :nyan:

I can't wait to share this map with you guys, I think your going to love it.

MOTD wasn't remasterd with zombie chronicles, but this map is going to live up to it.
And this map is going to be a custom classic becuase BO3 has custom modding, then this is gonna be a custom classic in the future.  :nyan:

Each character has all 400+ player quotes that you will hear in-game. It's a blast playing as each one of them and hearing them yell one liners and other funny quotes at zombies.

We do not care about the trailer, we want the map, we will do it ourselves the trailer!

I totally agree! I hate trailers they just spoil everything. Let me see what I can do about that. :)
