I think that might be unfixable unfortunately, I had that before on my map, and had to redo it from my latest backup (which was like 3 weeks old ) Mine happened because by some freak of chance I got a powercut in the few seconds it takes to save the map in Radiant.

I figured as much. It is a dark day in the kingdom, however this gives us the opportunity to clean up the map design and use our space more efficiently.

I'm expecting to devote more of my free time personally and it just so happens that knightwing is on his spring break. We'll be beach to where we were in no time

radiant creates a bak anyway? Just load that?

Also, you can try to roll back your PC 1-2 days before it got corrupted, that will work as well 

dont even need to rename it, just load the mapname.bak instead of the mapname.map

I am aware of the bak file, and that was my first option for recovery. However, the bak file was corrupted in the same fashion.

As stated, I rolled back to last week, to no avail. Unless I have done so incorrectly, it yielded no results.

rolling back will not change the state of these files. You did nothing wrong, it doesnt do what the guy described

It rolls back stuff for windows that are saved at certain intervals. It does not restore files to a earlier point in time

If you managed to corrupt the map, AND its back up though, I would seriously check my PC

Isn't the .bak file automatically created when you save though? Hence, if you have a corrupted save, the .bak is corrupted also?

no its created every 5 minutes while radiant is open

so if you suddenly save and close, the bak will still be 5 minutes prior to that

in other words, the Bak will always be in a state that was last open and "working" in radiant, and therefore should never be corrupt as it would crash radiant first before ever creating this back up

Well idk, I had the same thing as sedozz, I tried the .bak first also to no avail. And there is nothing wrong with my PC lol. I think the .bak just isn't as great and reliable as you think 

Talk about the best of both worlds.. Can wait for the release and to see some actual gameplay..

yes of course , well another form of good news is that sedozz is working as fast as possible to recreate what  was lost in hopes that we can release it around the time we had planned, and we are pretty close to putting it back together but its hard and ofc we still have the rest of the map to smooth out and detail so it"ll take sometime before we release anything but it will come no doubt =P hope to be back soon with more thanks for your feedback!

The rebuilding has started, at a pretty lively pace too! We're hoping to be caught up, or close to caught up by the end of this week
