Im trying to use tombmx's zappers from Sniperbolt's tutorial in my map, and they simply refuse to work.

I follow the readme (which is very unclear) and place the prefabs in my map, and they just show the hand icon and do not work...
I followed what I could understand from the readme, it didn't say what to put where other than to replace some code in dlc3_code with some from zapper_scripts.gsc (I think that's what its called) and start messing around with zone names, and the bit of text it tells me to alter the zone names in is nowhere to be found...
I don't even want my zappers to be blocked by doors or zones, I just want them to work!
please help

EDIT:  Got them working but several issues:

The electricity doesn't appear, it kills but doesn't show up, just looks like the trap is off.

When a round ends in a zone that the trap is in, rounds start skipping

When I kill more than 1 at a time with the zapper, I get an error:

AimTarget GetTagPos: Cannot find tag [j head] on entity


Is there a simpler way of doing zappers that would avoid all this?

No, not without rescripting the zappers. You shouldn't have to though, if they are the same zappers as in factory then they work fine and your just doing something wrong. Turn on developer and developer script.

how do I do that?

I now have them working but not damaging anything, with the lightning fx still not playing.
All I did to the prefab in Radiant was stamp it, delete the door and door trigger, as I just want the standalone trap not linked to a door, and add zombie_cost to the trigger

They are dvars, you set it to their max values in the console before you launch the map. However if your map uses broken scripts or has a script related problem it won't launch with them set.

I now have them working only minus the fx of the lightning "sticks", don't know why they aren't working

and that error in the OP, what is it? it keeps happening when I put the trap on for the 2nd or 3rd time or kill a lot of zombies with it...

Also, this zapper tutorial has also disabled 3 of my zones, no zombies spawn there and rounds skip...

I have backups of my mod and map before I tried to add zappers but I really want them in my map, but they are simply NOT working... >:(
