I've always been a huge fan of CoD Zombies. It's always been my favorite part of the CoD series (that had it).
About 5-6 years ago (when CoD:WaW came out), I found out about jtag'd xboxs. I went ahead and did some research on them and quickly made a purchase of one. I had a lot of fun doing modded zombies with my friends and just messing around with different patches. Anyways, after about 3 months of having the xbox, it got the RRoD. Probably from user error (myself), but I decided it was time to move on to new things. I soon lost interest in Xbox and wasting so much time on it. Fast forward about 2 years (after the WaW release), I began playing again. Not many of my friends played anymore so I had to find some new friends to play with. I went to look for zombie videos on YouTube in hopes of finding some good zombie players with (I've always considered myself far better than average at zombies).

I found MeatWagons videos of the custom zombie maps and I was absolutely amazed by it. I had never thought that I could play a completely custom map. I watched videos about it every chance I could. Now, I've never had a good computer (for gaming) and I don't really have the finances to pay for one considering I pay for car insurance, gas, etc. I've always been a big fan of Zombies and the idea of these custom maps and such sounds great. If anyone could shed some light on what I need to do to begin playing these maps, and getting started in general, that'd be fantastic. I do not currently have WaW or any CoD game on Steam, but I do in fact have a steam with a game or two. For anyone who has concerns about me actually being able to run games such as CoD, here are my computer specs using the tool "Speccy".

I do see a thread (http://ugx-mods.com/forum/index.php?topic=694.0) about playing the maps, so I will read that. However, my computer specs are still a worry for me. If someone could shed some light for me, that'd be great.

Anyways, thanks for reading (if you did), and I hope I can be a viable asset to this community.

Hey CHA0S, welcome on UGX! Enjoy your stay at UGX' Forum and Chat Room! :nyan:

Call of Duty: World at War doesn't need a really good GPU. The game should propably run fine (I had a laptop before and I could play SMALL/MEDIUM maps without any lag.)

If you want to download custom maps, you could always use the UGX Map Manager. This programs contains a lot of maps to keep you busy for some time :D You can download the UGX Map Manager here!

To install and/or launch the maps, you could take a look here (This link was already provided in your OP)

If you buy World at War using steam, the patches are automatically included and installed. If you buy the retail version of the game, you have to manually patch it up to V1.7. You can download the patches here (Again, only applies for Retail, not for Steam  ;))
