for nearly all (bar one or two) of the static models that i use appear as small blue squares in the 3d view and dont appear in game.they appear ok in the 2d view but i cant seem to crack what ive done wrong and i know its probably something really easy. anyone any ideas?

are you sure you set them to models and not script origins or something?

Create a misc_model, pick your model

then just copy that using the spacebar, and change the model

Ya im pretty sure but mayby ive done it wrong.to change it using your recommended method i changed the copy from the entity window to the model but it was still a small blue box. Just to be sure....the xmodel folder is supposed to be on its own in the waw directory and not amongst other needed files yes? :-\

theres is either something wrong with the model or you palced it wrong. Have you tried a stock model? As in, not a custom one?

If all you see is a blue box, youve hit a shortcut on your keyboard to disable drawing models and draw their bounding boxes instead i think

thats what it says in the text box. At the moment i have just been trying to use the vanilla models but only a few seem to work.And i dont think its a case of disabling drawing models unless theres a shortcut i press every time i open radiant?Is it a case of reinstalling the game?

Have you ran the converter after you installed your modtools? This is required to get all the images/models working. You can run the converter by pressing the button is Launcher.

Yes, but someone who has it's modtools recently installed won't have custom models or such :please:
But there is no other solution then running the converter if that's the problem.
And yes, they will get removed IF he does NOT have the .GDT in either his source_data or model_export.

could do what i do, back up the entire cod folder, run the converter, then drag back whats missing from the copy
